Brian Haggard, Ph.D., serves as the Director of the Arkansas Water Resources Center (AWRC) and the Water Quality Lab (WQL). He is also a professor in the Biological Engineering Program at the University of Arkansas. Brian has extensive experience managing laboratory activities, beginning during his graduate studies at the University of Arkansas and Oklahoma State University and continuing through his current research in water quality.

Brad Austin, Ph.D., is a Research Scientist at AWRC and the Water Quality Lab Manager. Brad oversees the daily operations of the laboratory and coordinates water quality monitoring and field services across the region.

Alfonso Chinchilla, Machaela Morrison, and Brandy Everett handle a wide range of analytical responsibilities and sample collection for multiple projects throughout Arkansas. Additionally, Machaela manages billing and report distribution.

The lab team is often supported by several undergraduate and graduate students who assist with daily tasks while gaining valuable hands-on training and experience.

With more than 55 years of combined laboratory experience, our team is highly skilled in the procedures required to collect and analyze water samples accurately and efficiently.
