Sample Collection
Sample Collection
The process of sample collection can vary depending on what water source you are collecting from, and what parameters you are wanting. We can provide regular sample collection bottles as well as sterile collection bottles required for bacteria analysis. Additional guidance is outlined below for each method of sample collection.
From a Pond
From a Stream
From a Bridge
From an Outdoor Well
To get a sample representative of your well water, we recommend that you allow the pump to run for at least ten minutes to flush out the lines before rinsing your bottle and collecting your sample.

Special Instructions for Bacteria Analysis
When you collect your water sample in the bacteria container, you should not rinse the bottle.
After collecting your sample, you should put it on ice immediately and deliver it to the lab. If you must ship your sample, you should overnight it on ice, and ensure that we receive it within 24 hours of when you collect it. Bacteria Analysis Form
